SOLUTION
Inspire has it's office in a historical building in the heart of Utrecht. I decided to reveal the wooden beams to bring some warmth to the main space. With the bright yellow on the insides of the supporting wall and bespoke lighting I put the emphasis on the original features of the building and brought a fresh spark of inspiration to the work environment.
Waiting room
SOUND PROOF & TRANSPARENT
One of the requirements was a sound proof conference room. I wanted to maintain the openness of the space. By using a sound isolating glass foil, acoustic panels on the ceiling and a sound isolating construction around the ventilation system, the conference room nearly holds all the sound.
Details
This is the place to make important phonecalls, or to speak to a client in private. When someone is waiting in here, there's a lot to be entertained by. I made sure there's a piece of art that inspires, and when you have some time you will discover some other interesting features like the floor that has been made out of triangle pieces of wood resulting in playful geometric stars.
For some crisp artworks in the coffee bar and waiting room I commissioned Lennart Wolfert www.lennartwolfert.nl. For the lights I designed I asked Daan Croonenberg www.croonenberg.nl to work out all the details. Now even the tops are beautiful when you look down from the mezzanine. He made all the lights by hand. Andrei Koens www.adecobouweninterieur.nl made the mesmerising geometric floor in the waitingroom and the 'floating' bar.

Create a fresh identity and interior for a new bed and breakfast in Valencia that will serve as a welcoming and comfortable place with a touch of luxury for travelers on a budget.
The Rooms
SOLUTION
The identity and interior are inspired by the art and architecture between the late 1800 / 1920's when the neighborhood was built. Zalamera now is a cool, fresh and modern space with an Art Deco hint of spanish flair. For the rooms I designed cabinets and a shelf system for the head ends of the beds. They were manufactured in Spain.
Cafe Bar
Terraces
In Zalamera's bar you can enjoy your eco friendly breakfast and the owners great coffee. I roamed antique shops and markets throughout the Netherlands and Belgium to find objects that reflect the building's history and add it's character to the modern interior.
Zalamera has an enormous sun terrace where you can get a quick tan or cocoon in one of the lounge corners.
The graphic lines inside continue onto the terrace in the cushions and fences. The plant stands, and Acapulco wire chairs contrast the warm green of the walls.
I planted Jasmine and Passion flowers to fill the air with summer. The bouganvillea will soon cover the balustrade of the private terraces downstairs. The penthouse terrace has a hammock, a baby orange tree and a honeysuckle to spread their perfumes in the warm evening breeze.
BRANDING
Hand in hand with the interior, went the design of the logo and stationairy. I like to extend a concept into every little corner of a building. So this entertains you on your way up to your room, or on your way down into the roaring city...

In Istanbul I found a lot of coincidental beauty. I love it how your view widens when you're traveling and marvel around. Traveling is an exersize in watching closely. And it's a gentle reminder of keeping that when arriving at home.
